• El eurodiputado de Ciudadanos, Jordi Cañas, advierte de que “la delegación está compuesta por miembros que pertenecen al chavismo o pequeños partidos tolerados por el régimen”

“Muchos habréis recibido un correo electrónico de una ‘Delegación Venezolana’ que se desplaza a Estrasburgo la próxima semana”, advierte Cañas a los eurodiputados del grupo liberal, tras haber sido alertado por la representación diplomática en Bruselas del presidente de la Asamblea de Venezuela, Juan Guaidó. “Es una delegación del régimen de Maduro y no la representación diplomática de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela”, asegura Cañas.

Los miembros de la delegación, que pertenecen al chavismo o a pequeños partidos tolerados por el régimen, han informado a los grupos parlamentarios de que existe una supuesta mesa de diálogo que incluye al Gobierno y a la oposición. En este sentido, solicitan una reunión de la denominada “Delegación por el Diálogo Nacional” con los eurodiputados el lunes 25 o martes 26 de noviembre. Cañas ha sugerido a los eurodiputados que si requieren de más información, se dirijan a su oficina para facilitar el contacto con los servicios diplomáticos de Guaidó.

I have been alerted by the diplomatic representatives In Brussels of Juan Guaidó that this delegation is a representation of Maduro’s regime and does not represent the democratic Venezuelan opposition.

The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela presents its compliments to the Secretariat of Renew Europe, in order to refer to the visit of a Delegation of the Venezuelan National Dialogue Roundtable in Strasbourg, on 25th and 26th November 2019, before reaching the Vatican on the next days. The Embassy would like to underline this opportunity for the Members of the European Parliament to have an encounter with the Delegation of the National Dialogue counting with representatives of the Government and the opposition.

Considering the tight agenda of the Delegation, the complexity of the plenary session and the limited availability of the MEPs and the meeting rooms, the Embassy would like to suggest the possibility to make the most of this extraordinary opportunity to have the Delegation to meet with the MEPs in Strasbourg, and to consider a few minutes hearing during the Group’s meeting or to schedule a joint meeting with a group of MEPs who would be interested to meet with the Delegation, on 25th or 26th November 2019.
